Sunfish and Other Stories on Green Lake, the debut feature from writer/director Sierra Falconer, was shot on location at Green Lake in Interlocken, Michigan. It centers around the lives of the residents of a small town and the lake that brings them together:

  • A girl learns to sail.
  • A boy fights for first chair.
  • Two sisters operate a bed and breakfast.
  • A fisherman goes for the catch of his life.

The U.S. Dramatic Competition features the premieres of groundbreaking new voices in American independent film, and Sunfish is one of 10 movies competing in that category.

The cast also includes Jonathan Stoddard, Wayne Deval, Adam Lefver, Michaela Lucy, and Brooke Butler. Maza is playing the character Enzo, though there are no details yet as to which of the many intertwining storylines he will be featured in.

However, given the actor’s real-life skill with the violin, we would think he’d be part of the storyline with the boy competing for first chair.

Sunfish and Other Stories on Green Lake will premiere at the Sundance Film Festival, which runs from Thursday, January 23, through Sunday, February 2.

A theatrical release date has not yet been announced, but keep checking back here at Soaps.com, and we’ll be sure to let you know where you can see Gio Maza on the big screen!
