GH admits mistake with Drew storyline, Frank Valentini promises changes General Hospital Spoilers

General Hospital made a major mistake when developing Drew’s storyline by turning him into a congressman without considering the real-life consequences for his plot. Drew becoming a member of Congress initially seemed like an exciting and ambitious twist. However, once this idea was put into motion, it quickly created a series of plot holes, causing his storyline to spiral out of control.

By common logic, a U.S. House of Representatives member would have to spend the majority of their time in Washington, D.C., attending sessions, drafting laws, and meeting with constituents to maintain political influence. This means that if the General Hospital writers want to keep Drew in Port Charles while staying true to his role, they would have to come up with an absurd scenario that viewers would find hard to accept.

How can a congressman manage national legislative duties while being deeply involved in personal stories in Port Charles as though he has no responsibilities in D.C.? The biggest mistake was the writers seemingly failing to research the political structure before having Drew run for Congress. Some fans quickly realized that the term for a House member is two years, not four, as the show indicated in a conversation between Drew and another character.

Additionally, Drew’s role in local issues, like the Port Charles Esplanade project, is completely unrealistic. Congress members don’t have direct control over city-level decisions in the way the show tries to present. This has led to a chaotic storyline, forcing the writers to face a dilemma.

If they want Drew’s story to be more realistic, he would have to move to D.C., which would cut him off from the other characters and could even push him out of the show’s main storyline. However, if they try to keep him in Port Charles without adjusting his congressional role, they will continue to weaken the credibility of his plot, making Drew’s character increasingly meaningless in the overall storyline.

The General Hospital script is now at a crossroads: either fix the mistake by changing Drew’s direction or continue making him a character with an illogical political role. No matter the choice, it’s clear that this is a misstep that has put Drew’s storyline in a ᴅᴇᴀᴅ end. Without proper adjustments, he could become one of the show’s biggest weaknesses in the future.

Willow’s unexpected decision to move in with Drew has created a shockwave in Port Charles, completely altering the dynamics and making the calculations of important characters like Carly and Nina meaningless. Willow, once always calm and rarely proactive in changing situations, is now making a move that could shake the relationships of many. Her choice to live with Drew is not only a personal decision but also a strong statement. For Nina, the situation is even worse. She has long tried to connect with Willow, but it has never been easy. Willow has always kept her distance from Nina, and now, with her moving in with Drew, it only strengthens the divide between the two women. Nina once believed she could convince Willow to accept her more, but now she realizes that she no longer has the opportunity to do so.

Drew is not a fan of Nina, and if Willow is living with him, it means she will be even further from Nina. This is Nina’s greatest fear: being completely pushed out of her daughter’s life. What worries Nina the most is losing her advantage in the power struggle between her and Carly. These two women have always had their own agendas, and Nina knows Carly also wants influence over Willow.

But with Willow choosing Drew instead of siding with Carly or Nina, both of them lose an important position in her life.
