General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that Sofia Mattsson (Sasha Gilmore Corbin) is officially OUT at the ABC soap. Sasha’s exit has been confirmed by the show, so the July 18 episode was indeed Mattsson’s final airdate.
In an interview with TV Insider, Mattsson spoke about her departure and how wonderful it was to have Tristan Rogers (Robert Scorpio) be part of it.
“It was special because normally we don’t always shoot in order, but my last scenes that aired were actually filmed last,” Mattsson said.
“And, of course, it was special that they were with Tristan. I really loved how sweet those scenes were.”
Sasha and Daisy Gilmore (Brenden and Evelyn Beimford) will have a chance to make up for lost time with Robert now that they’ve joined him in France.
Robert and off-screen Holly Sutton (Emma Samms) are both excited about this long-awaited family reunion.
It’s nice that Sasha’s getting a happy ending to wrap up her time on GH, but it’s still hard to watch her go!
Sofia Mattsson began her run as Sasha back in 2018, so many fans have grown to love her portrayal and will definitely miss her in the role.
Of course, there’s always a chance that Sasha will return at some point in the future.
Willow Tait’s (Katelyn MacMullen) manipulation is the reason Sasha and Daisy were forced out of Port Charles, so there’s no real danger to keep them away once the truth’s exposed.
That said, Sasha may build a happy new life with Daisy and find herself reluctant to leave it behind – even after Willow’s actions come to light.
Regardless, Sofia Mattsson did some great work in Sasha’s last episode. It was lovely to see Sasha bonding with Robert and sharing a heartfelt goodbye with Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) before he headed to the airport.
Now that Sasha and Daisy are gone, Michael Corinthos (Rory Gibson) will have to find a way to move forward.
