Sad news for General Hospital (GH) fans as the legendary Tristan Rogers announced, via his publicist Anthony Turk, that he has cancer.
Tristan is best known for his role on GH as the superspy-turned-district-attorney with a heart of gold, Robert Scorpio, a character he originated in 1980. Rogers was also on The Young and the Restless, playing Colin Atkinson (on and off) from 2010 to 2019.
The Official Statement
A press release was sent out, and according to it, while Rogers remains hopeful and is working closely with his medical team on a treatment plan, this has been a difficult time for the actor and his family.
It goes on to say, “As they face both the emotional and physical burdens that come with this diagnosis, the family kindly asks for privacy and understanding. They are deeply grateful for the outpouring of support and love from their friends and family.”
In addition, the release noted that the actor sends love to his fans and wanted to ensure they knew how much he appreciates their encouragement and loyalty over the years.
The statement added that, “This support means more to him now than ever. Future updates will be shared if deemed appropriate by Tristan and his family.”
Tristan Roger’s GH Hiatus
Robert Scorpio exited the canvas in November 2024 after reuniting with the love of his life and ex-wife, Holly Sutton (Emma Samms). He traveled along with her during her escape from Port Charles.
This was interesting since he had just found out that Sasha Corbin (Sofia Mattsson) was his long-lost daughter Holly never told him about; however, despite this, he and Holly mended fences and decided to waste no more time apart. Robert did promise he’d be back.
On behalf of everyone here, we send our thoughts and best wishes to Tristan Rogers and his family during this challenging time. Much like his many fans out there, we send positive vibes on a smooth and easy recovery for the actor.
