General Hospital New Head Writing Team Shakeup Announced
General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that the show has announced another writing team shakeup, so let’s talk about some big changes. GH fans may recall that Patrick Mulcahey’s departure made headlines back in May, so everyone was eager to find out if or when Elizabeth Korte would be paired up with another co-head writer.
The show has confirmed to SOD that former co-head writer Chris Van Etten is back in his old position.
Van Etten was previously part of a GH co-head writing team with Dan O’Connor, but now he’ll be penning soapy stories alongside Korte.
In other words, Elizabeth Korte has traded Patrick Mulcahey for Chris Van Etten when it comes to co-head writing partners, so it’ll be interesting to see what this new duo’s work looks like moving forward.
In addition to this co-head writing change, we should mention Cathy LePard being promoted from a script and breakdown writer to the associate head writer gig.
LePard will help Van Etten and Korte as they all try to deliver the quality writing that viewers are craving.
Fans won’t have to wait long for a taste of the new writing team’s material since the first episode they’ve written together will air on Thursday, August 8.
As for what’ll be happening in that episode, look for Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) to give Ava Jerome (Maura West) a reason to be scared as Sonny Corinthos’ (Maurice Benard) placebo drama continues to erupt.
Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) will also share some powerful scenes with Heather Webber (Alley Mills) at the hospital, so there’ll be quite an emotional rollercoaster as they discuss Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Alexander Chavez) and Esme Prince (Avery Pohl).
Things may be moving in the right direction now that multiple storylines are wrapping up or shifting gears, so let’s hope that the new writing team keeps that momentum going in the months ahead.
Our predictions point to some fresh storylines kicking off soon as well, so we’ll pass along updates as other story-related news becomes available.
General Hospital spoilers say there’s plenty more drama to come for all your favorite characters, so stay tuned!
