General Hospital Fans Are Livid Over The Latest Changes

It can’t get any worse than this, now can it? General Hospital fans have made it pretty clear that they are no fans of all the latest changes that have been made behind the scenes. Keep reading below for everything you need to know.

General Hospital Fans Are Livid Over The Latest Changes

As many General Hospital viewers are aware of by now, Chris Van Etten is coming back to assume the role as co-head writer alongside current co head writer, Elizabeth Korte.

This comes as quite the shock to fans as back in January, the General Hospital also made a lot of changes to their writing staff.

Back then, General Hospital head writers Chris Van Etten and Dan O’Connor were both given the boot. It was a move that shocked the entire soap opera industry for many different reasons.

It goes without saying that many fans and critics alike sounded off on the matter on social media.

Some critics even wrote, “This is laughable; re-hiring a fired head writer is a bad look. It genuinely is. Not to mention, Dan O’Connor was the better of the two between him and Chris Van Etten.”

“But no matter what, with Frank Valentini, Nathan Varni & Disney ABC Television running the show, this soap will never improve⏤and I say this as someone who has been very vocal about liking Valentini at this soap and this soap only.”

Another critic wrote, “They fired Dan and Chris because Steve’s comeback story was crap. That was the rumor, anyway, since no one at GH did an interview with the press. Nevertheless, they bring back half of that duo? Why? That couldn’t have been only Dan’s idea, could it?”

“Ain’t one reason why a man who pitched a redemption story based on a poisoned hip should be working in Hollywood.”

And then there was this comment as well: “I don’t think Frank Valenti is going anywhere because he supposedly is bringing production costs down and making it affordable for ABC to keep GH on the air.”

“I believe they should hire writers from maybe Australia or Britain and revamp the show and concentrate on a few of the core families, mainly the Quartermaines and Spencers.”

Of course, General Hospital fans will have to tune in to find out what will happen next by tuning in each day on the ABC network. Check your local listings for times.
