The Actor Robert Gossett who portrays the character of Marshall Ashford is exiting the soap as Marshall will be leaving Port Charles. Marshall Ashford Goes on a Tour
The two-time daytime Emmy award winner actor Robert Gossett has departed from GH and the show dropped hints of this exit already. Earlier last week, on October 3 Robert’s on-screen character Marshall Ashford told his son Curtis about an offer to tour with jazz great Wynton Marsalis.
Though he seemed uninterested in taking the offer and expressed his desire to stay with his family in time of need, his son Curtis insisted upon giving another thought to the opportunity. Now it has been confirmed that Marshall has finalized to join the tour as Soap Opera Digest confirms the exit of Robert from the soap.
Before we get any further with this sad exit news there’s good news attached, the actor is not exiting GH on a permanent basis which means he will reappear on the soap. Though fans have to wait a lot because the break is going to be really long, and the duration of Marshall’s tour has not been disclosed. So, this exit is going to be for an extended period.
Robert’s Time on GH
Robert, who first appeared on General Hospital in 2021, debuted the show as a mysterious figure who was invested in former private investigator and club owner Curtis Ashford. Eventually, it was revealed that the mystery mas was Curtis’ long-lost father, Marshall Ashford who suffered from a disease schizophrenia.
Since then, the actor has been entertaining the fans with his performance on GH. Moreover, in this period, the actor has received three-time nominations for the Daytime Emmy award and has bagged the award twice. He has won the award for outstanding supporting actor in the category of drama this year only at the 51st Daytime Emmy, 2024.
