The Candid Tribute

It seems that there can’t be enough words to describe the emotions of a mom who lost their son. On Instagram ahead of the weekend, Kristina poured her heart out. It was a long tribute that expressed deep pain. She accompanied her caption with a photo of her troubled son.

In part, the ABC star said:

June 6th is Harrison Wagner Day. If love alone could save him, he’d still be here. I’ve had three years of grief counseling and three years of grief support groups. I’ve hiked thousands of miles. I’ve read grief books. I’ve honored his missed birthdays. I’ve lit candles for him. I’ve cried and I’ve cried.

The real-life Felicia Scorpio also talked about her memories of her “amusing and charming” son. “His laughter was loud and contagious and came from a big man who wore a size 14 shoe,” she added. Next, she revealed how memories of Harrison come from all around. When she eats his favorite treat, he flashes back into her mind.

Additionally, Kristina Wagner recalled Harrison’s love for animals like “puppies” and “music.” Near the end, she revealed a comforting thought to her ABC fans, “I recently learned that a mother’s body can retain fetal cells for her entire lifespan. I like that – it means that he lives in memory, in spirit, and in body.”

Reactions From Cast & Fans

Maurice Benard (Sonny Corinthos), who struggles with depression and bipolar disorder, was one of the first GH cast members to respond to Kristina. He wrote, “Thank you for reminding me never [to] take anything for granted.”

Meanwhile, Y&R star Michelle Stafford, formerly Nina Reeves on General Hospital, said, “This is so incredibly powerful.”

Finola Hughes (Anna Devane) responded as well, and she was clearly very touched. She told her friend, “Oh Kristina, you write beautifully about Harrison, and you continue to share him with us. Love you, you created a beautiful human and he lives on.”

Fans were not going to sit the post out, and lovely messages of love went Kristina’s way. Here are a few of them:

  • Beautiful words for your beautiful son, Harrison.
I try and cherish the memories every day but boy is it heartbreaking…
  • My heart breaks for you. No parent should ever have to endure the unimaginable pain of losing a child. It’s a grief that shakes the soul and leaves an ache no words can reach…
  • Your tribute to Harrison is beautifully expressed. Yet I can’t imagine the pain you must also feel on days like today. God bless you and yours…
