General Hospital icon Luke Spencer is supposedly dead; however, several clues suggest the fan favorite is alive and being held against his will on GH. Soon, more may come to light about his death on the ABC soap.
Not long ago on GH, Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot) brought the tragic news that Luke Spencer (Anthony Geary) was dead. He was supposedly killed in a cable car accident. Of course, everyone was devastated. Luke’s ex-wife, Laura Spencer Collins (Genie Francis), was beside herself, and so were his longtime friends Robert Scorpio (Tristan Rogers) and super spy Anna Devane (Finola Hughes). All the General Hospital vets were in shock from the news. A beautiful memorial was held for him so his friends and family could say goodbye, but it didn’t provide the closure they were hoping for.
Laura is sure that Victor Cassadine (Charles Shaughnessy) is behind her ex’s death, and all the legacy characters agree. Anna, Robert, and Felicia Scorpio (Kristina Wagner) all agree, and they’re on board to prove Victor is guilty. But of course, fans know that Vic ordered Luke’s murder. But what if that’s just what he wants everyone to think?
General Hospital watchers believe Luke Spencer’s alive and Victor’s prisoner. Indeed, the mega villain has a flair for holding people hostage to use as leverage. He kept Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) captive, as well as Liesl Obrecht (Kathleen Gati), plus Holly Sutton (Emma Samms) and her son Ethan Lovett (Nathan Parsons), and most recently Lucy Coe (Lynn Herring). All of these people were considered dead while they were Vic’s captives all along. So, most likely, he’s doing the same thing with Luke.
General Hospital fans also suspect he’s in the same prison as Lucy. If that is the case, he might have been right under Anna’s nose when she and Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) rescued Lucy. But they think he is dead, so they aren’t looking for him. Instead, their main goal is to clear Anna’s name and destroy Vic. But Luke could still be in the prison in Paris.
Indeed, it makes sense for Luke to be alive because the way he died doesn’t sit well with viewers. For him to die in a fluke accident offscreen does not make sense. His portrayer, Anthony Geary, is still alive and well, so fans can’t understand why he’d be killed off unless there’s more to it.
Tracy is set to return to GH this April, and she’s coming back for a longer arc. Indeed, her return is great news, but it may also be a clue that Luke might pop up soon. She might join the mission to make Victor pay for killing her longtime love, but she and the gang may get a surprise and find reason to believe he’s alive. If so, their scheme will turn into a rescue mission, and Tracy could be front and center.
Of course, Anthony is no longer acting, so the showrunners may resurrect him offscreen. Then, when Tracy’s stint is over, she will likely return to Amsterdam to reunite with Luke. Indeed, it seems like Tracy’s comeback coincides with this storyline, and fans hope the big reveal comes soon.
