Michael E. Knight Returns To ‘General Hospital’ After Hiatus
Michael E. Knight is making his return to the ABC daytime drama General Hospital. His comeback comes after a brief hiatus from the show, and fans couldn’t be happier to see him back in Port Charles.
The soap vet first joined the cast of the ABC soap in 2019, bringing with him the charm and charisma that made Tad a fan favorite during his long run on All My Children. His GH character, Martin Gray, may not be Tad, but he quickly won over audiences.
Michael E. Knight Returns To General Hospital
Martin Grey left Port Charles in February after finding his lady love, Lucy (Lynn Herring,) in a compromising position with Scotty Baldwin (Kin Shriner.) Michael E. Knight said at the time that it was a short break from the show. But as time went on, fans worried the show fired him.
But it turns out there was a reasonable explanation for the actor’s unexpectedly long hiatus from the show. Michael E. Knight revealed to Soap Opera Digest that he was originally only supposed to be gone for three months. However, the writer shakeup behind-the-scenes delayed his return.
He praised GH executive producer Frank Valentini for hiring him on the show four years ago.
“Frank [Valentini, executive producer] brought me on initially to work with Roger [Howarth, whose Franco was attorney Martin’s client] when I was trying to make my health insurance [work requirement]. And I will love Frank for the rest of my life for doing what he did, because four days [of GH work] turned into four years.”
The actor didn’t reveal what brings the lawyer back to town. With several major storylines reaching a head, Martin’s legal expertise is sure to be put to the test. From the ongoing drama surrounding the Davis family to the latest scandals involving the mob, there’s no shortage of cases for the legal eagle to tackle.
More Casting News: Lindsay Hartley Replaces Kelly Monaco Again
Michael E. Knight isn’t the only one fans can expect to see back this week. Actress Lindsay Hartley replaces Kelly Monaco again this week in the role of Sam McCall. However, it has nothing to do with Kelly Monaco being fired from the show.
According to SOD, the scenes with Lindsay Hartley were filmed at the same time as the scenes for the funeral for the baby Molly (Kristen Vaganos) and TJ (Tajh Bellow) lost when Kristina (Kate Mansi) miscarried.
