90 Day Fiancé’s Michael Ilesanmi Finally Reveals If He Scammed Angela Deem Before Joining New Family

Michael Ilesanmi from 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? strongly denies taking advantage of Angela Deem for a chance to move to the United States. Their love story began when they first connected on Facebook. Despite the 22-year age gap and Angela’s trust issues, the couple tied the knot in January 2020. Angela applied for a spousal visa, so Michael could come to the United States. After a four-year wait, Michael finally arrived in the U.S. in late 2023. However, a few months later, he left Angela. Luckily, Michael quickly found comfort within the African community in the U.S.

While talking to ET , Michael cleared up the misconception by emphasizing that he didn’t scam Angela for a green card.

In reality, he even proposed moving to Nigeria together. Michael also explained that the controversial WhatsApp group “Paradise Men,” which connected Nigerian men with American women, was simply a support group for people seeking information and guidance, and they were all “genuine.” Michael further expressed, “it’s like an attack on the part of where we come from. It’s what people believe.” He added that he would have left Angela long ago if he were truly scamming her.

Michael shared that he felt like an “unwanted guest” in Angela’s home and was “treated very badly” by her. He said, “it had gotten to the point [where] I couldn’t bear it anymore.” Michael opened up about the lack of physical intimacy in their relationship, revealing, “she sleeps in the room. I sleep on the couch — that’s how we’ve been living.” He also expressed concern about his safety in the house, fearing he would be the first target if there were a break-in. Michael admitted feeling uneasy in the house, with Angela closely watching his every move.

Michael was right to open up to his fans about his experiences. However, hearing about how poorly Angela treated him isn’t shocking. Over the years, viewers have watched how Angela made Michael feel emasculated and insignificant while he tried to help her improve herself. In the end, Michael left just like many had predicted. He likely waited until he could benefit from the relationship, like obtaining a green card, before making his decision. It’s unfortunate that Michael didn’t handle the situation more ethically, but it seems like he felt he had no other choice.
