90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? star Angela Deem isn’t a saint and her daughters Scottie Deem and Skyla Deem have also made headlines for the wrong reasons. Angela, 58, went looking for love in Nigeria on Before the 90 Days season 2. Angela was approached by the 34-year-old Michael Ilesanmi on Facebook DM. Although suspicious about how he found her profile in the first place, Angela followed her heart and got engaged to Michael after meeting him. She made it her life’s mission to bring him to the U.S. despite having a nagging fear she was being used.

However, Angela didn’t treat Michael well in any of the many 90 Day Fiancé seasons they’ve starred in. She made it look like she was doing Michael a favor by getting him a visa. Angela expected Michael to worship her although her behaved terribly. Michael was loathed by Angela’s daughters Scottie and Skyla. Angela expected Skyla to carry a baby for her and Michael. While Scottie disappeared from the show after a few episodes, Skyla is definitely involved in the couple’s relationship, as she keeps questioning her mom’s decisions.

Angela Deem’s Got Physical With Michael, His Car, & A Female Friend

Angela’s been abusive towards Michael in the past. Fans recently watched Angela spitting her food at Michael after he came to America, but the cameras have caught her shoving his face into a cake, or trying to track his phone location all the way from Georgia. Angela showed up at Michael’s home in Nigeria in 90 Day Fiancé’s Happily Ever After? season 7. Then, she tore apart his car. When he tried to stop her, she shoved him against a wall. Angela was also caught slapping and punching her friend Jennifer in a physical fight – both were left bleeding.

Scottie Deem Was In Prison

According to People, Scottie was charged with multiple counts of child molestation in September 2018. She was arrested in September 2017 on suspicion of aggravated child molestation and aggravated sodomy. She was charged with 11 counts of child molestation, one count of aggravated child molestation, and one count of statutory rape relating to incidents that allegedly occurred between July and August 2017. The suspected victim was a boy under the age of 16 and the offenses were allegedly committed with other minors present. In March 2019, Scottie was sentenced to 20 years for child molestation.

Scottie was to serve two years and one day of a 20-year sentence in custody. She was to spend the remainder of her sentence on probation. However, as per InTouch, Scottie was released from prison after spending 15 months behind bars. In June 2020, the publication reported Scottie was released from Pulaski State Prison early, during the month of May. Angela’s daughter was added to the sex offender registry in Georgia. She returned to social media amid her release in June 2024 but doesn’t seem to be using the platform for now.

Skyla Deem Was Involved In A Court Case Over Angela’s Grandchildren

In August 2022, Angela’s younger daughter Skyla won a legitimation case against her ex-Barry Gene Burch over her children with him, according to InTouch. Skyla’s ex, who is currently incarcerated, wanted legal rights to his kids, and legitimation was the only way he could have achieved his goal as the kids were born out of wedlock. Skyla got the case dismissed due to lack of prosecution by making an oral plea. A judge granted the dismissal “without prejudice.” 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? star Angela celebrated the win by thanking their attorney on Instagram.
